Focus on our Lumirror® UV light protection films
At Toray Films Europe, we are committed to provide you innovative films that meet your needs. In this context, our technical department has developed a range of high quality Lumirror® PET films that offers an efficient and lasting UV light protection while taking care of the aesthetic quality and performance of your final product.
The table below gives an insight into our UV protection Lumirror® PET films suitable for either packaging or industrial applications:
Focus on the Lumirror® XTRM PVG
The Lumirror® XTRM PVG is a clear film that has mainly been designed for outdoor applications and solar panels.
It can be used as a component for photovoltaic backsheet, thus contributing to provide an efficient, renewable, less-polluting and increasingly popular form of energy. The Lumirror® XTRM PVG is laminated to create the PV backsheet and used with silicon wafers on rigid PV panels. The film possesses unique properties that do not only increase lamination and encapsulation productivity, but also offer lifetime protection. In addition, it is an alternative to fluorine-based films that are used to a large extent on the market today, thus increasing the recyclability of the product.
It is also suitable for outdoor applications such as window protection since it offers a strong hydrolysis resistance while allowing a reduction of the number of layers usually necessary.
Therefore, it helps decreasing significantly the risk of delamination and failures while remaining fully UV resistant and hydrolysis stable.
These graphs show the increased performance of the Lumirror® XTRM PVG compared to a standard PET film on different aspects such as the hydrolysis resistence, the ageing degree of the film, and the wavelength resistance.
Focus on the Lumirror® XTRM UVS
The Lumirror® XTRM UVS is also a transparent and UV stable film with a plain side and a side sealable on itself or other materials such as PET, PETG, primed steel… Moreover, it is heat sealable between 110°C and 200°C.
But its main asset resides in its high resistance in outdoor conditions thanks to its strong UV barrier. Therefore, it is the perfect film for applications such as GRP (glass reinforced panels) or outdoor labels overlaminates.
For example, barrels are often stocked outside, facing changing meteorological conditions to which information written on labels needs to be resistant in order to remain readable.
Focus on the Lumirror® 10.40UV
Its main properties dwell in a special UV light protection property developed by our technical department for packaging applications.
Besides answering the need of a perfect printability permanently resistant to UV light, Lumirror® 10.40 UV special treatment improves adhesion of inks, adhesives, cold seal and polyethylene lamination on the treated side. These properties line up with a high thermal stability as well as a good machinability due to surface roughness.
