Focus on our UV light protection film : Lumirror® 10.40 UV
Toray Films Europe contributes to making packages designs appealing with constant innovation. Discover our UV light resistant film, ready to be laminated and printed!
Lumirror® 10.40 UV is a clear asymmetrical PET film. Its main properties dwell in a special UV light protection property developed by our technical department for packaging applications.
Key advantages
Proven efficiency against UV light
It is suitable for both protection of content and inks.
• Food packaging that requires UV filtering due to supermarket lights that can alter the appearance of the product, therefore in need for efficient protection of food against light.
Ex: sandwiches, pre-cut meat, ham, cheese…
• Protection of inks themselves, so that colors last and do not degrade over time, as shown below.
The PET core is UV filtering and virtually blocks all UV within the electromagnetic spectrum of 300 – 380nm, while the primer is an extruded copolyester side, thus suitable for printing and all kind of lamination techniques. This following graph shows the impact of the UV lights on both 10.40 UV film and standard 10.21 film.
Performance on every level
Besides answering the need of a perfect printability permanently resistant to UV light, Lumirror® 10.40 UV special treatment improves adhesion of inks, adhesives, cold seal and polyethylene lamination on the treated side. These properties line up with a high thermal stability as well as a good machinability due to surface roughness..
It is suitable for any kind of packaging applications and with respect to FDA, can be used in contact with food.
Lumirror® 10.40 UV is a two layers’ film available in 12µm.
