Toray Films Europe always tries to innovate and develop solutions to meet customer needs by reducing plastic weight of packaging. Today, Toray Films Europe is pleased to announce a new step in the downgauging of Claryl® PET films.
Toray Films Europe is the only one PET film manufacturer in Europe to produce a 6µm metallised PET film, with an in-house metallisation. This new 6 µm Claryl® metallised film will allow a reduction of the thickness of the film but also a reduction of the quantity of waste. By being able to deliver this film, Toray reduces by half the part of plastic in the packaging, from a standard at 12µm to 6µm. This new thickness will not change any characteristics or process.
Beside his aesthetic aspect, our 6µm Claryl® metallised film has several advantages:
- Food approved for direct food contact and food protection with a certified of the MOSH MOAH barrier
- Good machinability
- High protection against natural and UV light
- High thermal stability
- Glossy and silver aspect
Our 6µm Claryl® metallised PET film is then designed for flexible packaging, security and board lamination market.
